Climbing trip to Spain
My husband Bernie and I planned to stay in Cuenca, but the weather was too rainy there. So, we spontaneously decided to climb in Chulilla and booked a room at the albergue Pena Maria in Gestalgar nearby. It was my first visit to Chulilla and Gestalgar and it turned out to be the right solution. The inhabitants of this region are very likeable, full of hospitality. I felt very wellcome, especially at the albergue of Jonathan and Merche where we stayed. The landscape is beautiful with a sense of calmness and that is what I search in my climbing trips in order to balance out my stressful life at home.
As far as climbing is concerned, Gestalgar with its short powerful routes is a good combination to the long routes climbing in Chulilla. Generally, the rock and its routes are amazing and we climbed a lot and tried different routes.
Nevertheless, ten days are not enough to I see all the crags in Gestalgar or Chulilla, therefore it is quite likely to come back sooner or later.
