ALPS Project Challenge 2017
Climbing without aims mostly doesn't work. Almost every climber follows a climbing project to realise. At the ALPS Project Challenge we support ambitious climbers five months to achieve their goals.
The well-known climbing legend from the Frankenjura Andreas Hofmann, climbing pioneer Hansjörg Finsterer from ALPS and my humble self are in the trainer team.
Advanced climbers, who are older than 18 and who have a project between 6c and 8a in Germany or Austria could apply for this project. On basis of the collected questionnaires, a jury selected the participants for the classification. There, we chose six climbers to prepare for their projects.
The decision wasn't easy. All projects sound interesting and almost all had the potential to realise it.
The finalists are now as follows: Manuel Baldauf, Thomas Danzl, Timo Skarwan, Neele Grundmann, Marie Jeutter and Laura Lanig. These athletes participate in fitness tests, coaching sessions and get training plans for their projects.
I am quite curious what future brings. We are highly motivated to move on!
