A product shooting with Edelrid
The annual product shooting with Edelrid was held in Puy Saint Vincent, Briançon this year. We came together for four days to produce all pictures and movies for the company’s belongings. Therefore, we had a tight schedule and started early in the morning and finished late at night. The crew of movie makers, photographers and managers of Edelrid did a great job and we all got along well with each other. Legendary athletes such as Tommy Caldwell, Hansjörg Auer, Kilian Fischhuber, Loïc Zehani and Jana Müller joined the meeting. We experienced great climbs and had interesting conversations. Especially the winners of a campaign, Chris and his girlfriend Isi, didn’t want to miss out on the days with us. Every evening we met for dinner in the Alpe Lune and got served excellent local dishes.
When the Edelrid’s meeting finished, Bernie and I extended our trip to check out some climbing spots. We went to the crags Tournoux, Entraygues und Facebouc. The first mentioned crag possess' powerful short routes near the path and long resistant climbs in the upper sector. There, I climbed the route 'Cactus, 8a' with its powerful start and its technical finish on a slap. The route 'Clin d’oeil au paradis d’en face, 8c' is quite interesting because of its varied climb, except the crux possess strange moves on artificial holds. The wall of Entraygues on the contrary is steep and powerful. Here, I am proud of my ascent of 'Blonde de choc, 8b', because dynamic moves on bad holds are not my preference. In the end of out trip I tried 'La cour des grands (relais B), 8c'. I failed very close to the end on this route. Ten climbing days in a row were obviously too much to succeed in such a powerful route. Like Entraygues, the last mentioned crag Facebouc is made of granite too and hosts nice routes mainly on crimps. Since my injury on my left hamstring I can’t do active heelhooks. Therefore, especially the route 'La fee d‘ailefroide, 7c+' was a kind of challenge for me.
Altogether Bernie and I had a great time in this calm area and enjoyed our stay at the campsite Croique Loisirs of Dako and Annemarie. Although Puy Saint Vincent depends more on winter tourism, the landscape is ideal for climbers, hikers and mountain bikers. Whereas Bernie had his bike with him, I missed my one at home. Nevertheless, the trip ended with great memories and stunning climbs.
